Sustainability

Juniper has brought true innovation to the networking space with the world’s first AI driven full stack network. The Juniper Mist™ AI Platform makes networking predictable, reliable, and measurable with visibility into the user experience, proactive automation, and self-healing capabilities. Apart from the technical and operational benefits, the solution can reduce a network’s carbon footprint by way of virtualizations, reduced on-site visits, and automated energy management. All this is achieved through Juniper’s state of the art architecture featuring microservices cloud, the AI driven operational framework, integrated hardware platforms, and 100% API capabilities.

This paper in the link below illustrates some of those capabilities as an initial introduction to AI-driven networks’ sustainable potential.

Mist has an optional subscription service – Premium analytics, which provides long term insights on various performance aspects of the Network. One of the dashboard ‘Sustainability Dashboard’ has insights on the PoE consumption of the wired switches, which helps in understanding the energy consumption of the wired network.

This dashboard provides insights on

  • PoE usage insights at different levels – org, site, floor, switch, and ports
  • Total number of PoE switches from the currently deployed switches
  • PoE budget and consumption
  • PD count by 802.af, 802.3at, 802.3bt and LAN

Given below are sample screenshots from the dashboard.
