Gateway Actions

Bad Cable

Bad cable cases detected on the gateway side will show up on the Action Dashboard to give you a more complete coverage for Ethernet errors across your network.

Click on the ‘View More’ link in the Details column to bring up the Bad Cable Details card which shows which ports are affected by Bad Cables connected:

After fixing this issue on your network, the Gateway – Bad Cable action will auto resolve and appear in the Latest Updates section within 24 hours of the resolution.

MTU Mismatch

The MTU Action will detect instances on your gateway ports where there are negotiation mismatches. This can happen during a duplex mismatch due to the auto-negotiation failing to set the correct duplex mode. In the Details column you will find the port on your gateway where this is happening. Please look into your configurations on the port and on your connected device.

Select the ‘View More’ link under the Details column to bring up the details card which shows all ports on the gateway affected by MTU Mismatch.

Bad WAN Uplink

Bad WAN Link is a new Action available in the Gateways section of the Action Dashboard.  This action identifies instances where your uplink interfaces on your gateway are experiencing issues or are unhealthy.  When you see a Bad WAN Link Marvis Action, we recommend that you please check the uplink connection on your gateway to troubleshoot the issue.  These Bad WAN Link issues can be caused by ISP ARP/DHCP issues, as well as Poor LTE Connectivity.

Please note that Gateway data is only available for SRX and SSR devices on your site.

One of the symptoms that our Gateway Actions can catch is a Bad LTE WAN Link on your gateway device. These actions have a details card which shows a timeline of impacted clients and signal strength reading in the impacted time window, similar to our Anomaly Detection model available in Connectivity Failure Actions.

After fixing this issue on your network, the Gateway – Bad WAN Uplink action will auto resolve and appear in the Latest Updates section within 24 hours of the resolution.
