Product Manager

The Product Manager will help shape the development of Mist’s groundbreaking wireless platform. Reporting directly to the VP of Products, this individual will have a big impact on the development and promotion of the Mist solution.

  • Create product content, collateral and support material
  • Present the Mist value proposition to prospects, customers, and partners
  • Gather product requirements, prioritize product investments, and validate use cases
  • Support product marketing to develop product positioning and collateral
  • Track product performance throughout the product lifecycle (from definition to rollout)

Requirements

  • Technical degree (e.g. EE or CS)
  • Experience in networking and wireless preferred with marketing experience also desirable
  • Strong written and communications skills

Sales Manager

Mist is looking for a NorthEast Sales Manager (Director) to cover New England, NY, NJ and PA Region, reporting directly to the head of global sales. This person will be responsible for building the territory, closing key accounts, nurturing existing customers, and managing partner relationships in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential new customers and build relationships with current customers
  • Develop strategies for penetrating new accounts and growing relationships with end users and partners
  • Manage the sales process for all customers in the region
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain current contracts
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to work accounts and keep one another updated on new marketplace dynamics
  • Support specific Marketing Programs, lead generation campaigns, and targeted sales activities

Requirements

  • 7+ years Enterprise sales experience (wireless experience preferred, as is experience in a startup environment)
  • Proven track record selling in the specified region
  • Ability to multitask and  manage complex sales cycles to completion
  • Must be able to work independently with a passion to sell
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and phone communication skills
  • Open to travel 50% of the time

Cloud Developer

Mist is seeking a cloud developer as a strategic component of our engineering team. This individual will be responsible for solving complex problems and designing subsystems that will make the Mist platform the premier wireless solution in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement MVP versions of the subsystem[s] using state-of-the-art tools and techniques
  • Work with the rest of the engineering team to create Mist standards for Micro-Services (APIs, schemas, serialization, data stores and best practices)
  • Build metrics, monitoring and structured logging
  • Write unit, integration and functional tests that make your code safe for refactoring and continuous delivery
  • Automate all things
  • Participate in collaborative, DevOps style, lean practices with the rest of the team

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience building and delivering scalable distributed systems
  • Experience building and leading software teams in a startup environment
  • Experience with Kafka, Hadoop / YARN, Mesos, Spark, Storm, Samza, and Esper
  • Understand machine learning techniques and tools. Translate business requirements into data models and implement them for scale and production ready systems
  • Agile / Lean and TDD are key parts of your development lifestyle
  • Comfortable with Command Line, Linux, Git, AWS, Vagrant, CI, and ChatOps
  • Desire to work in GO, Python, Java, Javascript (Node.js) as primary languages and environments

DevOps Engineer

DevOps is not a position, it’s a process, and we’re committed to the DevOps way at Mist.
Mist is looking for engineers that relish taking on a “Greenclouds” opportunity to help shape the culture, tools and implementation of a CI/CD driven, lovingly monitored, scalable, real-time screaming/streaming infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure and maintain the core tools, frameworks, and systems of the Mist platform
  • Create and maintain mechanisms that enable Mist’s Microservices to be fully tested and continuously delivered at scale
  • Participate in the design and implementation of a real-time monitoring system
  • Help create and manage multi-datacenter, non-stop systems
  • Blue-Green deployments and Canary Releases on top of Kafka, Stream Processing, InfluxDB, and Cassandra
  • Build tools that allow us to develop and deploy polyglot services
  • Create tools that leverage schema repositories, Avro, code generators, DSLs and other productivity amplifiers
  • Write and maintain Chef Cookbooks, CI Jobs that build assets, Docker Containers, etc, use Mesos for scalable deployment
  • Contribute back to Open Source community

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experienced writing code and making things go (ops)
  • At home with the command line, Linux, Git, AWS, Vagrant, CI, and ChatOps
  • Can deploy anything with Chef (or Puppet, Ansible, Salt, etc, but willing to use Chef)
  • Polyglot by nature. Strong with and willing to learn Python, Go, Java
  • Hands-on with one or more tools such as Kafka, Hadoop / YARN, Mesos, Spark, Storm, Samza, Esper, NetflixOSS, Elasticsearch, influxDB, Cassandra or HBase
  • Your head has been in the Clouds (AWS that is) for the last few years
  • Self Starter / Finisher; Creative and enjoys solving problems
  • Strong system-level troubleshooting skills and ability to identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks
  • Comfortable with Kanban / Scrum / Agile / Lean and of course the DevOps Way
  • Loves learning, particularly about new technologies, techniques and cooperative software development
  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment where there may be multiple competing priorities
  • Plays well with others, speaks and writes in ways that mere mortals can understand
